Atty. Rongo finished Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at the University of the Philippines – Diliman in 1998. Thereafter, he obtained a Master of Business Administration degree from the De La Salle University – Manila in 2003. He proceeded to study law at the Ateneo de Manila School of Law where he was conferred a Juris Doctor degree in 2008. He took and successfully passed the bar examinations of the same year.

While pursuing post-graduate studies, Atty. Rongo headed the Board Committees Secretariat of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), which served the Corporate Governance, Risk Oversight, Audit, and Legal Oversight Committees and Subcommittees of the GSIS Board of Trustees. Following the 2008 bar examinations, he joined Picazo Buyco Tan Fider & Santos as an underbar associate. Thereafter, he worked for the holding firm of a giant conglomerate, where he was assigned across the tobacco, aviation, banking and financial services, and real estate industries.

Before joining the firm, Atty. Rongo was the President of Gaia South, Inc., a pioneering Philippine environmental consulting firm. Gaia South, Inc. advised leading firms in the power generation, mining, mineral processing, real estate, leisure and tourism, agro-industrial, manufacturing, petrochemical, and light to heavy industries.
